NB455 Temperature format

Is there a more permanent way to make Netbotz report temperature values in Celcius. After browsing through the forum I managed to change temperature values from F to C in advanced view (ver 3.1.0). Unfortunately, I still see values in F from Web Browser (IE8) and email alerts.
HELP.

Chee,
In order to change the measurement from F to C on the NetBotz Advanced View and Basic View (web view), you should simply need to change the region and locale settings on your local computer. To change the notifications to use a different measurement, you need to change the time zone and locale via the NetBotz Advanced View under the Region settings.
So AV and BV depend on your local computer settings, and notifications sent depend on the NetBotz own regional time and locale settings.
-Mike
Update: I noticed that you mention your browser and AV conflict. Please ensure that after changing these settings that you close all instances of IE (maybe even reboot your computer) so that IE detects your computers new region settings. AV and BV should report using the same measurement.

It is very confusing ! Is it a AV and browser conflict or firmware issue ?
Say, I want to try upgrading the firmware, can I download and install offline ?
I browsed the APC Software / Firmware site but only NetBotz Firmware/Software v3.1.2 (Rack Monitor 550/450, Wall Monitor 455/355) is avail.

C.L.Chee,
Currently the BotzWare files needed to upgrade are not available for an offline upgrade. You can do the upgrade via the NetBotz AV if the NetBotz has internet access. If it is protected behind a firewall, please contact your local APC support and they will be able to send you a CD with the BotzWare files to do an offline upgrade.
These firmware files should be available online sometime in the future, but I do not currently have an ETA.

I don't understand why you have to make user to change region in order configure the temperature format, should be user selectable option? so smart!

By changing the locale, we can reflect not only temperature conversions, but also language and locale based formatting of things such as time and dates.

I deployed these Netbotzs in the US and our customers requested to display "C" format instead of "F" and this thing won't allow it unless we have to go through all the trouble in order to display "C" format. Our customers used to the AP9320 and we don't have a solution for them. I will NOT use netbotz for our product.

Setting the localle to English (UK) should allow your customer to display in Celsius. Also, the NetBotz 200 is still based on the APC NMC technology and allows a simple selection for C or F, but don't not support the more advanced features of the NetBotz 355 and above models.

I found a solution for this, I use the racsense RSO and it works. No more APC!

Hi Phoenix,
If you are looking to change the reading from F to C within your Advanced View software, you will need to change the locale of your computer. Our software reads the locale information from your computer (as set under Windows Control Panel) and uses that to determine the formatting options, so that each user may have their own preferences for viewing the sensor readings. Try changing the locale on our computer to something like English (UK). You will need to restart the NetBotz Adanced View software and then it should be displaying in Celsius. I believe windows even has a locale/language bar that you can enable to quickly switch between different locales on the fly.
Let us know if you have any further problems!
